About our concrete contractor business in Placentia
We're a Placentia concrete contractor building driveways, patios, walks and foundations, and we put the most care into the parts you won't see once the concrete is down.
From landscaping yards to pouring concrete
I ran a small landscaping company for years before I ever poured a slab. I kept seeing cracked, sloppy concrete in the yards I looked after, and I got tired of it. So I learned the trade working beside a concrete contractor until I could run jobs on my own, and I started Premier Placentia Concrete in 2013.
Most of our calls are for driveways, patios and flatwork, which is our word for the walks, pads and slabs around a house. We also take on the foundation and wall jobs that need more planning. Most of the people who call are homeowners, along with property managers and folks adding onto a house.
What I care about most is what nobody sees once the concrete is down, like the ground under it, where the joints go and where the water runs. Concrete cracks. I'd rather tell you that up front and plan for it than act surprised later. My first business taught me that people come back when you say what you'll do and then do it.
Straight answers about your concrete, before and after the pour
You deal with me from the first visit to the final walk, so the person who priced your job is the one who answers for it. If you ask where your slab is likely to crack, I'll tell you, and I'll show you where we'll cut control joints, grooves that give a crack a line we picked.
If the budget gets tight, I'll tell you to cut back on the finish before the base, because the ground underneath is hidden on day one and it decides whether the slab settles. Our written estimates list what's included, like tear-out, ground work and joints, so you can line them up against other bids.
Good concrete starts with the ground underneath, and you should know what's going in before we pour.
